BETWEEN THE BALKANS AND THE MEDITERRANEAN

Fustanella serves Mediterranean and Balkan cuisine while following and re-interpreting traditional recipes cooked for centuries in the hearths of homes where fustanella was and is still worn. The menu is seasonal and based directly on the products grown in the fields surrounding our restaurant and guesthouse.

We are very interested in the traditional Albanian cuisine and neighboring cousines. We prepare the dishes on fresh seasonal products, turned into a daily or weekly menu with Albanian, Greek, Arvanite and Arbëresh specialties, which we combine with seasonal appetizers very dear to us southern Balkans. Before the opening of Fustanella, in September 2019, Mrs. Lucia Martino, an Arbëreshë lady from the town of Frashnitë in Calabria, came and helped us with Arbëresh dishes, at the same time as the Ambassador of Calabro-Arbëresh Cuisine in Albania. Mrs. Martino continues to help and inspire us and remains the “Mother” of Fustanella Farm.
